Its My Birthday

It's my birthday today and I am still kinda sick. The kids are still sick and Melanie could not miss today at work. I was home again which was okay because it is my birthday, but I wish I could have worked today. The kids were delightful, since they were sick, they basically just sat and watched TV with me. We were quite the group all cuddled up on the couch for a bit.

They weren't really interested in a big lunch so we went down for a nap. I laid down for a short bit, and felt much better after. Then I did some gaming until Melanie got home from work. Then it was time to get ready for my birthday party; I got the family room tidied and had a nice long shower.

Myself and 4 friends had tickets to a beer festival. There was some amazing food and over 50 beer labels to be sampled. It was so much beer. I think I was more full than anything when I was done, but it was really fun. There were many great beers and I found a new one that I think I'll add to my regular list. I am a bit of a beer snob and prefer a Guinness over Canadian any day of the week. Mmmm Guinness...

So were chauffeured back here for video games and cake and we called it quits around midnight. I was exhausted and so was Melanie so I didn't even get to have Birthday sex which I always look forward to because it is generally very good. the problem is that if you don't have special occasion sex on the day, it's just not going to happen.

So we need to have sex 3 times this weekend again. That will be fun!

Lelo Nea Review

Small. Sleek. Beautiful. Powerful.

I can't say enough good things about all of Lelo's products and the Nea is no different. It's not phallic shaped so I know some guys would find that a bonus because some guys might be intimidated by a penis shaped vibrator.

This little girl fits perfectly in your palm and hits the perfect spot at the perfect angle. Guess what we think of her?

She came in the most beautiful package. I believe that all Lelo products come very tastefully wrapped. Included in the box were instruction/warranty, charging cord, and a pouch to store Nea in.

Ryan absolutely hates screwing around with batteries so I know that the simple fact that Nea is rechargeable means a lot to him. We did find out that she wont hold her charge for long if you go a week without using her. So keep her charged.

The controls are so easy, right button for more power and left button for less power. They are back lit so that you can see if she is running low on power when you are using her.

Nea is great for solo use but she is also wonderful to add to a massage (she is that strong). She is also a lot of fun to use on your man. When you get some lube on Nea she gets so slippery that she will slide over any part of you or your man that you want.

We opted for the Nea Black but she comes in white and pink. All are beautiful, it's just preference. We already had Chloe in Red Nea and Chloe now keep each other company in the bedside drawer. I wonder how we could include them both in a session sometime?

Get 10% off your own Nea at A Little More Interesting. The link and web code are in the top right of your screen.

Enjoy,

Melanie

How Did We All Get Sick

It all started Monday. Our little boy started to get a little sick. He began with an eye infection and that quickly became a fever and runny nose and all those awesome body fluids. Then on Tuesday, I thought I was having an allergic reaction to a cat in the morning, but by the end of the day I had a full blown fever and sore throat and head ache... etc. Our little girl is not feeling well, not as many symptoms as we have had, but she's pretty miserable. Then Melanie got a nasty bladder infection and is not feeling that well either. That's all four of us!

Monday, we both worked and had a pretty good day. Just put the kids down and then when it came time to get down to business I was just not in the mood so I offered to break out Chloe (our We-Vibe II) and I brought her to orgasm with that. Then we went and watched our shows and got to bed a little late.

Tuesday I was feeling miserable and had to call it a no go which was okay with her as she was finding out that she had a bladder infection and needed to go to a 24 hr pharmacist. Our Dr's office has a great after hours on call service

We'll see how Wednesday goes, but I am not overly optimistic. I need us all to get better because it's my birthday on Friday and I don't want to be sick for my party.

Cold FX here I come!

Eye Infections, Birthday parties, and Sex on the Couch

I was looking forward to a relaxing morning, maybe making waffles for breakfast and then getting ready to take our song and daughter to a birthday party. At 8:00 when I got I got our son out of bed I noticed right away that his eye was very red and a bit crusty. So much for my morning dream. I went online and found a walk-in clinic near by that opened at 9:00 and off we went. Thankfully, we were only about 5th in line, so we got in pretty quick. The doctor confirmed an eye infection, but thankfully not Pink Eye. He gave us a prescription, and I asked about the possibility of going to the birthday party in the afternoon. He said that it should be fine - much to my surprise and appreciation and much to Ryan's disappointment. Ryan loves (insert sarcasm here) small children's birthday parties!

We got home after running a few errands, shoveled some food in our mouths wrapped the present and headed for the party. There were a lot of three and four year olds in a very small room. Thankfully we didn't spend much time there. The party was at the Gymnastics Center and the instructor took the kids through some warm ups and then three extensive circuits with tonnes of great gynmastic type activities. They had so much fun and both kids and parents were exhausted by the end. (it's amazing how difficult it is to pull yourself out of a foam block pit after swinging in from a rope!) We did cake and presents and then it was time to head home.

We put the kids down for a late nap around 2:30 and then just sat. It would have been a great time for sex, but I was so not interested. Thankfully, neither was Ryan. We watched a couple of our shows together, which was really nice. We got the kids up around 5:00 and had leftover spaghetti sauce over angel hair pasta for supper. We played for a bit and then it was time for bed - the kids, not us

I was surprising interested in some type of sex in the evening, but it seemed like things kept getting in the way. Finally, Ryan just said "sit" and down I sat on the couch. We had great sex (and watched curling at the same time ) It's always a little more fun when it's impromptu and not in the bedroom. Ryan has known this for a while, but I am just starting to realize this now, as I begin to some out of my sex shell because of this marathon.

It was a nice start to the week. We'll see what tomorrow has in store. The calendar says it's going to be a busy day.

At Least One Of Us Is Motivated

So Melanie was a rockstar today, while I was totally sloth-like. She made mini blueberry pancakes, went to a basketball game, went shopping, saved a little girl from falling, etc. I on the other hand, held down the fort with the kids and reveled in my afternoon of gaming while the kidlets napped. Pretty pathetic hey?

I am still riding my celebration of being finished the bathroom from hell. I did have a lot of fun hanging with the kids this morning after we finally got up. Our little boy got up at 7:30 am and watched cartoons and kept our little girl entertained while we slept until 9. They are both so well behaved.

Afternoon came quickly and I very much felt like having sex in the afternoon while Melanie was out. Of course you always want what you can't have. By the time Melanie got home, it was time to get the kids up and head out for the evening. I made some spaghetti noodles to go with the sauce in the fridge (I made enough for all of us if there is time to eat), but when Melanie got home she made some snide remark about how I probably didn't make enough for her and I just said look in the pot Always assuming the worst hey?

So when we got home, I was so tired and we were very lucky to pull off the exchange. I used our Massage Candle and Melanie used our Flavored lube. It added lots for both of us and despite being tired we had a fantastic time.

Only one day left of the weekend,

Ryan

And I Am Done!

Guess who finished the bathroom. ME! I am so happy to be done this project. I am cleaned out and paid. I could not be happier. I celebrated when I got home with a couple of beers then went to the driving range with a buddy. But let's back up a bit so I can include a bit of Melanie's day in here too.

Melanie was supposed to volunteer at her school for provincials, but somehow managed to weasel her way out of that. Instead, she took our son for a haircut, they cut it way too short. His hair is so much nicer when it is a little longer. Then our daughter needed her shots, this is never fun, but it needs to be done.

She wanted to go to the school to watch a basketball game when I got home and she wanted to leave our daughter with me. I just wanted to celebrate a job well done so I said I would much rather just be at home alone. This did not go over well. I was in the doghouse, but I felt entitled to some time.

When Melanie left I started to feel really horney and figured I needed to ensure some sex tonight. I texted her a sorry note and she replied "it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission hey?" I guess that is true sometimes hey? I then texted her a little later telling her about the oral sex she was going to get later this evening. She didn't respond, she never responds well to Sexts, but it clearly got her on the right page as I will explain soon.

After I got home from the driving range with a buddy of mine, we had some homemade spaghetti (Melanie is the most amazing cook) and then had a couple beers and played some video games. I was still very horney so I told my buddy that I was so "tired" so I could go enjoy some time with Melanie.

I went into the bedroom and Melanie was in some very hot panties and the bedroom was lit with candles. The Massage Candle was lit also. See what I mean, she was "on the same page as me." I gave her the massage that she clearly wanted and then we proceeded to have some very passionate sex. We actually took over an hour which doesn't happen very often.

Sleep quickly ensued.

Live On The Radio

Live On The Radio

Today was so fun, we had lots going on. First thing we headed to Home Depot to pick up a lot of things to finish up the job that I am working on. When we got back we made some really wonderful smoothies and put the kids down early as we had an appointment for a live radio interview to talk about our marathon.

We had a great chat with Scott Thompson of CHML900 in Hamilton. Thanks to Trina Read for hooking us up with one of her contacts. Trina does a Hump day chat with Scott once a month and they talked about our blog last month. You can find that radio segment on Trina's website trinaread.com.

After we wrapped up our chat with Scott we headed to the bedroom to get a quick session in. Melanie really wanted a massage and I haven't received very much oral sex since her wisdom tooth was pulled so I was really keen on that. The result: The Exchange!

After the exchange we were both ready to take on the day! I had to head to work for the final day working on the shower, grouting was the order of business and it sure feels nice to have it done. I am definitely feeling a lot better about life today! Melanie headed to her school to help out with basketball provincials. Her school is hosting this year, apparently it's a pretty big deal.

When we got home it was time to head over to our friends house for a fondue party. It was the 4 of us with 2 oil and 1 cheese for the main, and a chocolate for desert. OMG, it was so amazing. There was a tempura batter that was amazing on EVERYTHING! Tempura beef, pork, chicken, asparagus, broccoli, anything! Such a great time. It's not often that you take 3 hours to fill your face.

Again, when we got home we were in a food coma and just headed to bed to digest, not to have sex.

Full and satisfied,

Ryan

Hump Day Is Not What It Should Be

We had 2 really tired days this week so we are going to bundle them together. Tuesday was far more interested than Wednesday so we'll start at the beginning. Melanie was at Moms and Tots in the morning then we mooched a Costco trip off of a friend because ours just expired and I am hoping my Dad will renew it with his.

I have been tiling the tub surround from hell and that has really been making me hate life. I have been coming home grumpy and unmotivated, which when you are trying to have lots of sex is not a good thing.

The evening was nice, we headed over to friends of ours who just had a little baby. Our son and their girl are best friends, so they had so much fun while we visited. We brought along a couple pizzas so they didn't have to cook. We found out they are moving to BC soon which was kind of a downer, but they have been dreaming of doing that for a long time so it's great for them.

After a couple of beers and lots of pizza we headed home (Melanie didn't have any beer, she was the driver) neither one of us was even remotely interested in anything intimate so we just went to bed

Wednesday was basically the same, except Melanie worked. I was tiling the shower again and hating life for the 3rd day in a row. The major difference was in the evening.

We are done curling, but we wanted to keep Wednesdays as our date night, so we asked the babysitter if she wanted to keep sitting for us on Wednesdays. We headed out to Ric's Grill, if you're in any city that has one, I highly recommend! It is not a cheap place to eat, I think with no drinks it was around a buck fifty.

We ordered Mediterranean Dip to start (the most amazing spinach dip ever). Melanie ordered a Caesar Salad and I ordered the New England Chowder next. Then they brought us a mini French loaf that was so warm and yummy. Melanie's main was Fillet Mignon with a side of mushrooms (so good) and I had the Striploin with Alaskan King Crab Legs. For desert we shared a vanilla Creme Brule.

We had such a wonderful time talking and connecting in a wonderful environment. We remembered from the book Just Do It that Doug and Annie had gone on a similar date where they ordered way too much food and were too tired to do much of anything after and we were no different. After all of that food we were the opposite motivated to have sex.

One interesting point of conversation came up that made me laugh pretty hard. It seems we are both getting much more confident talking to each other about sex related things. Before we weren't able to talk about anything sex related. Melanie has been sporting a Brazillian off and on since we started the marathon and it's super hot, but a while ago when I tried something similar she actually got angry; so I let everything go back to normal. It turns out that now she prefers me to stay trimmed/shaved... sigh.

Well it was straight to bed after we got home and that concludes our two days of no sex this week.

See you soon,

Ryan

It's been a super duper busy week. We have most entries almost done, but not quite ready to publish. Sex is on track and since my little episode of not being able to get the Captain to stand at attention, things have been going well. thank you to everyone for your encouragement.

We were on the radio today and hopefully we'll be able to put up the interview tomorrow or Saturday.

Talk to you all soon, check in later tomorrow and there should be some great updates.

Boo... Daylight Savings Time

The Monday after daylight savings time is never good. It's amazing how much losing one hour of sleep affects me now that I'm older. We really need to think about following Saskatchewan's lead and just saying NO to daylight savings time. Since we have not yet done that, it was a long, exhausting day at work today and I was very glad to get home. I picked up the kids from daycare and then headed to the grocery store for a few things. When we got home I started making stir-fry while Ryan played with the kids. Turns out the kids don't like stir-fry, so this was not the most pleasant dinner time we have spend together. There was much whining and pouting, and some bribing with dessert.

Once the kids were in bed I sat down at the computer to check email and things. Ryan soon came up behind me and started kissing my neck. Pre-marathon, this type of thing would have turned me right off because right away I would have got defensive, thinking "oh great, he wants sex". But now, I both embraced it and enjoyed it. It's amazing how much more enjoyable things are when I know sex is going to happen and actually allow myself to enjoy it. We headed to the bedroom and really enjoyed spending time with each other, before, during and after sex. It's nice to be able to take a little extra time every once in a while.

Then we headed downstairs to watch our shows: Chuck and How I Met Your Mother.

A great end to a rather exhausting day.

Slow And Steady Didn't Win the Race

To elaborate a bit on the title, the day was actually pretty fantastic. We basically relaxed all day at home, but as night time activities started the night... well... sucked.

Lemme start at the beginning. The kids slept in, which was really nice after a very late night. I had the little ones this morning while Melanie was out and we hung out, played and watched some Tree House. I love Tree House, not because of the programming, but because the kids will just sit there for a bit while we can get some things done (not sex you sickos LOL).

When Melanie got home we fed the kids and got them down for nap. Melanie had report cards to work on so I headed to the XBox for a while. It turns out that "report cards" is code for "nap". I came upstairs to see how things were going and she was comatose in bed. I had to wake her up at 4:30, she had a 3 hour nap, and we had to head to Boston Pizza to meet my Aunt and Uncle for supper. That was delightful as they are really nice to see and the kids love them.

When we got home and got the kids into bed, Melanie told me she wanted to have a bath and then we could get down to business. Speaking of business, you really should check out the song "Business Time" by Flight of the Concords. It's very funny and while I quite often feel like referring to "business socks" I am sure most of you would not have a clue what I am talking about. SO, head on over to You Tube and listen to the song.

Back to the topic at hand, Melanie comes out in some really hot lingerie and this is where things start going sideways (but not in the good way). I was just not in the mood and so not excited... I know, STUPID right!?! Since she did look smoking hot, I figured I could rally up some horniness and make this happen. Yah that didn't happen, the captain could not be woken. This doesn't happen much, but it does happen from time to time since we started this marathon. The problem is that when it does happen, boy does it throw me for a loop. I get really anxious the next few times and it can turn into a cycle. I think they call it performance anxiety or something... anyway I hope it's not going to be a big deal!

I salvaged the night and went down on Melanie so the night wasn't a total loss, but I did not sleep much more than 2 hours and am kind of stressed about it. We'll see how this pans out tomorrow.

Wish me luck!

How Great is Brunch?!!

I had dreams of sleeping in today. I have been so tired but like they say, there is no rest for the wicked. We had an early brunch with a bunch of friends which took us to nap time. I love brunch, it's such a great meal, with me you can't go wrong with eggs anytime of the day. We got home and put a quick couple of bites in the kids mouths to top up their tummies and then tucked them in for the afternoon.

Melanie was hoping to put some time in on her report cards even though the server was still down. She was typing out comments and I just got a new video game so I was playing that. I am a gamer and I just got a game I pre ordered at Christmas so you might be hearing that I will be playing it a bit for the next little while. I guess the good news is that you will hear less about curling.

We had grand plans for having shower sex during the afternoon, and while technically we did that, it was not so super for me. I am so sore from floor hockey on Friday night and couldn't really pull myself together. We tried out our new vibrating puff which worked great for Melanie, but I was just not in the mood and while we did have sex in the shower, I just got super tired and kind of gave up... kinda pathetic hey?

We got the kids up from their naps after we got ready to head out for the evening. When we got home, Melanie headed to bed and I stayed up for a bit to play some of my game. Then at about 2am our little girl was having some pooping problems so Melanie was up for about an hour helping her out with that. She's going to be pretty tired tomorrow.

One more day to go this week

Better than Dessert

I was excited to see an old friend from high school this morning. We went to a coffee and play place, so the kids could play and we could chat. I think I spent more time telling the kids to go play than they actually spent playing, but it was fun to catch up with an old friend. She is pregnant, so we're looking forward to spending more time once she's on maternity leave. We left there around 12:00 and headed home for lunch and naps. I was surprised to see Ryan's truck in the driveway as well pulled up. He had finished work early, which was nice for him. It is nice to have him home, although I find that I just don't get much housework done when he's around. And today was not different. After the kids when to bed Ryan wanted to watch our shows, so we spend a couple hours watching Glee, Big Bang Theory and The Office. It was nice to hang out, but my laundry continues to pile up!

The episode of Glee we watched was about sex and one of the songs they sang was "Afternoon Delight". They sang the song thinking it was about eating dessert in the afternoon. We decided that sounded like a good idea (not the dessert)! I had expressed a desire for intercourse, but Ryan was less enthusiastic. I'm glad we are documenting this stuff, because this is a very rare occurrence. He felt like he needed a bit more of a "break", so today was all up to me. We did some experimenting with Chloe, after a comments about a "clit sandwich" that a couple had tried with it. They were right when they said it was incredible - fast and very intense! It was nice to have time during the day, since our evening was triple-booked.

We got the kids up and I get supper ready. At 6:00 the babysitter arrived and we headed out. We were both supposed to go to a dinner meeting, but Ryan had floor hockey, so I went alone and then I headed from there to Dress Club. I figured I would be home by 10:00, but you know how it is when a bunch of ladies get together to snack and chat. Ryan called at 11:00 to let me know he was going to bed. I think I joined him at around 1:00.

Getting up for brunch tomorrow is not going to be easy,

Wisdom Tooth Wisdom

I just remembered that I wrote a few quotes down from when Melanie had her wisdom teeth out. I just about fell off the bed a couple times laughing because of the particular timing of a couple of these. Generally we would be getting ready for that day's festivities and she would come out with one of these.

So for your reading pleasure...

◦"Thinking of thrusting makes my mouth hurt"

◦"Too bad it's not my boobs that were swollen"

◦"It makes me feel sad that my face doesn't feel like sex"

◦"Maybe if I hold my face we can have sex."

I thought those were hilarious, hopefully you enjoy them too!

Staplers, Caramelized Onions, and 5 Minutes for Sex

I can feel myself getting sick today, Cold FX here I come! I reluctantly dragged my sorry butt to work so I could get a couple things done and get the tiles grouted. Then I headed home after lunch to make myself a permanent resident on our couch, just north of our TV.

I did some updating of our blog and watched some TSN and I am not sure if I nodded off or not. Why does time go by so fast when I am curled up on the couch?

Melanie got home just before supper with the kids and our son was very pleased that he had a very important job at day care: he was asked to hold the stapler and apparently he did it like a pro! We are so proud

I ended up taking over for supper so Melanie could take the kids out for a walk. I absolutely love caramelized onions, bacon and fried perogies. I also make that meal very well. I am wishing for leftovers as I write about it.

We ate late so the kids went to bed almost right after supper, I know it's not ideal, but that was how it went today. After the kids were in bed, we had like 10 minutes to do something sexual before the babysitter arrived. After about 3 minutes of trying to figure out what to do in 10 minutes we had to revise our question to what can we do in 5 minutes?

I established quickies haven't been working well for us lately a couple of days ago so I suggested a super fast exchange. But by this point Melanie was already starting to give me a bit of a show. I did what any (straight) husband would have done in this position: joined in. That was super hot and something I hadn't seen yet. Just as we got ourselves redressed the dog started barking indicating the babysitter was at the door. WE DID IT!

Our last curling draw of the season left much to be desired, I don't play well when I am sick or when I have a drink before... I was sick and I had a beer before. We lost by one against a team that wasn't that great. Oh well there is always next season

When we got home and into bed Melanie made me a tea and told me to take my Cold FX. I always read before sleeping, but I didn't even get a full page done before I was out.

See you soon,

Ryan

Pancake Tuesday...So Yummy!

I like Tuesdays! I like to hang out with my Mom's and Tot's friends and our kids have so much fun with their friends too. After we hung out and chatted while the kids played we headed out to Costco to get some gas in the car and found out that our membership was expired... why does everything that costs money always expire at the same time? Both our vehicles needed to be registered, then Ryan's license is going to expire at the beginning of the month, plus a traffic violation, plus Costco membership, that's a big hit to come in one month!

I did get a pleasant surprise when Ryan came home early. He was tiling a floor and tiled his way out of work for the day So guess what we watched together? Yup, Curling! I did some marking and before we knew it, the kids were ready to get up from their nap. In hind sight this afternoon would have been the ideal time to have sex... you know what they say about hindsight...

It was pancake Tuesday so I made blueberry pancakes with some bacon for supper then Ryan was meeting some friends at the driving range so he had to take off. My friend came over after that and we talked for hours. Then Ryan and his friends came back for some beers and to play some golf on his game console.

I waited for them to be done, but that was clearly not going to be happening so I headed to sleep and we used our first sexless day of the week.

Maybe we can pull off curling and sex tomorrow,

Melanie

The Quickie Debacle

This is going to be the week of socializing! Tonight we have company coming, tomorrow I am going out with buddies to the driving range, Wednesday is curling, Friday is floor hockey. I both love and hate weeks like this. I am very much an introvert, and while I like my friends and curling and all that stuff, it exhausts me. I really hope this doesn't affect performance too much this week.

I had a pretty full day of work today, but I did get home a bit before Melanie so I had a shower and began percolating a plan for sex tonight. I thought a quickie would be a fun plan so after my shower I put on a towel and put a Disney movie on for the kids when they got home. When Melanie got home I put the kids in front of the TV, quickly swept Melanie to the bedroom, locked the door and she then realized what was happening. She smiled and we got to business. Chloe quickly joined in and we were soon putting our clothes back on to go get ready for our company to come over.

I have to say, we're not very good at quickies. It really isn't long enough for both of us to be really turned on.

We had some pizza and games with our company and when they left we were both very glad that we had done the deed earlier in the day because it was straight to sleep.

Thanks for coming by,

Ryan

Best Sex Ever!

Today was a nice relief from a super busy couple weeks. The kids let us sleep in until about 9 am and then we just had some coffee and watched the second day of the Brier (yes that's a curling tourney).

I spent the better part of an hour this morning trying to find the name and artist of 'Hey, Soul Sister' by Train as I have had that song in my head for days and I didn't know the name or who sang it. Once I found it, Melanie and I danced around with the kids to the song. It was very fun! I played it again later in the day and the kids just expected it was dance time, so cute!

Melanie made BLT's for lunch and they were so good. We got the kids down for nap then we had to chat about what we were going to go buy at A Little More Interesting today as it was time to go and pick up some toys to review for you all. Once we got that sorted out, our babysitter came and we headed to our new favorite store. It's such a classy place and we had a blast there together (we had only gone separately before).

I'll tell you about the products we bought in upcoming reviews, but we got a couple new vibrating friends and some other fun bits too.

When we got home, guess what was on TV again? Ontario spanked Saskatchewan which Melanie wasn't thrilled about, but really we're mostly just cheering for Martin (Alberta). I BBQ'd some bratwurst and fried up some onions for some amazing hot dogs for supper. Then it was time to put the kids down.

Then the most amazing sex ever took place. I lit candles, including our massage candle. It started with a massage, then we tried out our new Lelo Nea vibe, which we absolutely love. Then we tried a couple new positions and the sex was great. The really amazing part was that after I finished there was no down time, if you take my meaning. We were both like, "what's going on?" I was as surprised as Melanie, but we just went carried on into round two and used our new vibrating cock ring, which was awesome also! And I book ended the session with another massage for Melanie.

Here's the math, 2 orgasms each + 2 new toys + 2 massages with candle = best sex ever!

Have a great Monday!

Ryan

What a Day

I should have known that today was going to be one of those days, when I accidentally turned my alarm off at 7:00 and slept in until 7:40. Likely because I hadn't gotten home until close to 2:00am after a great night out with the girls. I got the kids up and set them in front of the the TV with a banana and a glass of milk each while I had a speed shower. Ryan had already left for a conference that he needed to be at all day. By the time I got ready, got the kids ready, got out the door, and dropped the kids off for a playdate, I was 40 minutes late for my 9:00am workshop.

It ended up being a great workshop and I was glad I had gone. I picked up the kids from their playdate and headed home to transition into going to a baby shower. As I pulled up to a red light I heard the dreaded siren and noticed the lights in my mirror. I pulled over, wondering what I had done. Turns out my car registration was 4 days overdue and was awarded a $230 ticket and given a choice: I could either have my car towed from there or the cop could escort me to the car registry to get my plates renewed. Well, as fun as having my car towed and being stranded on highway 1 sounds, I chose to head the the registry. He left me there and I went in to renew my registration. The kids had fallen asleep in the car so I left them there, thinking I'd just be a minute. Turns out the car is registered under Ryan's name, so they won't let me do it. I remained surprisingly calm, walked back to the car and called Ryan. He had to leave his conference and drive to where I was to renew the registration for me. Now, I was late for the baby shower, but still determined to go.

I quickly ran home, grabbed the gift and a the address and started the trek down to the southeast side of the city. Things were moving along, the kids were sleeping and I was starting to relax, just as we slowed to a crawl and spent the next 1/2 hour waiting behind an accident on Deerfoot Trail. I arrived at the shower about 10 minutes before it was ending. Thankfully people hung out a bit longer, and it was great to catch up with a few people I hadn't seen in a while. I ended up driving one friend home and then the kids and I went to Wendy's for something to eat. We finally made it home, with Ryan close behind and got the kids to bed. Then I just sat in a bit of a daze. I was so tired and stressed and didn't feel like doing anything.

Unfortunately we had to do something because we were already behind a day this week. I needed to relax in the bath and Ryan had some work to do. Then we decided to to The Exchange (I really really needed the massage) and it was great. It would have been so easy to just go to bed, but it was nice to connect after a hectic day. Another benefit of this crazy marathon.

Hoping for a very uneventful Sunday,

Melanie
